الجوز من بين أطعمة الأوميغا 3 المرتبطة بفوائد نمو الدماغ لدى الأطفال والمراهقين

تضيف دراستان جديدتان إلى الأدلة المتزايدة أن لنظام الأم الغذائي خلال فترة الحمل آثار دائمة على نمو دماغ طفلها ومهارات اتخاذ القرارات التي تتجاوز مرحلة الطفولة إلى سنوات المراهقة.
 
في دراسة جماعية قائمة على السكان نُشرت في المجلة الأمريكية للتغذية السريرية، وجد الباحثون أن ارتفاع استهلاك الأمهات للمكسرات والمأكولات البحرية أثناء الحمل مرتبط بتحسين الوظيفة النفسية العصبية لدى الأطفال من سن 4 إلى 15 عامًا.1 وأفادت دراسة تكميلية نُشرت في الطب النفسي الأوروبي للأطفال والمراهقين أن تناول الأمهات للمكسرات والأسماك ارتبط بانخفاض السلوكيات الخطرة في اتخاذ القرارات لدى الأطفال في سن 11. 2
 
قيمت الدراسة عينة شملت أكثر من 1700 زوج من الأمهات والأطفال من أربع مناطق إسبانية تم تحليلها. تم تحليل النظام الغذائي للأمهات باستخدام استبيان تكرار الطعام، في حين تم تقييم الوظيفة النفسية العصبية للأطفال من خلال اختبارات موحدة لقياس زمن رد الفعل والتباين (الانتباه)، والذاكرة العاملة، والذكاء السائل.
 
وبينما لم تركز أي من الدراستين فقط على الجوز، إلا أنهما تساهمان في الأدلة الأوسع نطاقاً التي تدعم دور إدراج الأطعمة الغنية بالعناصر الغذائية، مثل المكسرات، كجزء من النظام الغذائي الصحي قبل الولادة.
 
النتائج الرئيسية
  • سجل الأطفال الذين استهلكت أمهاتهم المزيد من المكسرات والمأكولات البحرية خلال فترة الحمل درجات أعلى في مقاييس الانتباه والذاكرة العاملة والوظائف التنفيذية خلال مرحلة الطفولة والمراهقة.
  • كما كان هؤلاء الأطفال أقل عرضة لاتخاذ قرارات متهورة وعالية المخاطر في مرحلة المراهقة المبكرة.
  • وقد تم تحديد أحماض أوميغا 3 الدهنية - الوفيرة في الجوز والأسماك الدهنية - باعتبارها من العناصر الغذائية الرئيسية المرتبطة بهذه الفوائد الجوز من المكسرات الشجرية الوحيدة التي تعتبر مصدرًا ممتازًا للأحماض الدهنية النباتية أوميغا 3 ALA (2.7 جرام/أونصة).
